Casino gaming in Namibia is regulated by the Casino Board and, since December 2021, by the Gambling Board established under the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act, under the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.The Casino Act of 1994 says casino licenses can only be granted to liquor retailers, bookmakers and hotel operators, although later regulations under the 2018 Act refine licence categories and impose central monitoring and levy obligations on licensed casinos and gambling houses.
